How Jemakor handles personal data

This Privacy Policy explains what information Jemakor collects when you visit our website, request an assessment, or contact us about energy storage systems for efficiency optimization. It also explains how we use cookies, how long we keep information, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Last Updated: January 15, 2026

1. Who we are (data controller)

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar privacy laws, the data controller is Jemakor LLC (referred to as “Jemakor”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We provide information and consultation related to energy storage systems for efficiency optimization, including battery system planning, operating strategy guidance, and resources for deployment and commissioning. We do not sell personal data.

This policy applies to our website and the pages that link to it. Where we link to third-party sites, their privacy practices apply to their services. If you have questions about this policy or your data, email us at [email protected].

2. Personal data we collect

We collect information that you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use our site, and information from communications with us. We only request data that supports responding to your inquiry or improving the website experience.

Data you provide

  • Full name (when you submit a form)
  • Email address (to respond to requests and optional subscriptions)
  • Phone number (only if you choose to provide it via contact methods)
  • Message content (project context such as site type, goals, constraints)

Data collected automatically

  • IP address (used for security, fraud prevention, and analytics aggregation)
  • Browser and device information (user agent, OS, device type, screen size)
  • Usage data (pages viewed, time on page, referrer, clicks)
  • Cookie identifiers and similar technologies (see Section 10)
  • Server logs (request time, page requested, response status)

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data (such as health, biometric data, precise location, or financial account numbers) through this website. If you include sensitive data in a message, we will treat it with care and limit access, but we recommend you do not provide it.

3. How we collect personal data

We collect personal data through several channels that are typical for a business website offering energy storage consultation and resources. These channels allow us to answer requests, maintain site security, and understand which content is useful.

  • Web forms: When you submit a request on our site or send a message through /contact/, we receive the data you enter (such as name, email, site type, and your message).
  • Newsletter or updates signups: If you opt in to receive notes or resources, we collect your email and store your subscription preference.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: Our site uses cookies to store your cookie preference and may use analytics cookies if you consent. See Section 10 for details.
  • Analytics tools: We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand page usage and improve content. If enabled, it collects usage data and device/browser signals in an aggregated way.
  • Server logs: Our hosting infrastructure records standard log data for reliability and security, including IP address and request metadata.

We do not use pop-ups that block content or force you to provide personal data to access core pages. If you choose to contact us, we use your information to respond. If you choose to subscribe, we use your email to send the requested communications.

5. Purposes of processing

We process personal data for specific, limited purposes related to providing information and support for energy storage systems. We do not use your data for unrelated profiling, and we do not sell personal data to third parties.

  • Service delivery and communication: respond to your messages, schedule calls, and provide requested materials about storage sizing, controls, and efficiency optimization.
  • Customer support: maintain continuity when you follow up and ensure we can understand the context of prior requests.
  • Marketing (consent-based): send optional newsletters or resource updates only when you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Site performance and analytics: understand which pages help visitors, improve navigation, and address broken links or slow-loading pages.
  • Fraud prevention and security: detect automated abuse, reduce spam submissions, and protect the website.
  • Legal compliance: comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.

6. How long we keep data (retention)

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve disputes. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the interaction.

Retention periods

  • Form submissions and contact requests: up to 2 years from last interaction.
  • Email correspondence: up to 2 years, unless needed longer for ongoing support.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, then up to 30 days to complete processing.
  • Analytics data: 14 months (typical analytics retention window).
  • Server logs: up to 90 days, unless required for security investigations.

Deletion and minimization

If you ask us to delete your personal data, we will take reasonable steps to do so, subject to legal requirements and legitimate needs such as security and record-keeping. We also aim to minimize the content we store by focusing on the parts of your message that are necessary to respond.

To request deletion, contact [email protected].

7. Sharing personal data and service providers

We share personal data only when necessary to operate the website, deliver communications you request, or comply with legal requirements. We do not sell your personal data. When we use service providers, they process data under instructions and with contractual safeguards.

Categories of recipients

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: to deliver the website and store data securely.
  • Email service providers: to send and receive communications and optional updates.
  • Analytics providers: such as Google Analytics 4, to understand website usage when analytics are enabled and permitted by your cookie choice.
  • Professional advisers: legal or compliance advisers where needed for legitimate purposes.
  • Authorities: where required by law, court order, or valid legal process.

We may also disclose information in connection with a corporate transaction (such as a merger or asset sale), but only to the extent necessary and subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection safeguards.

8. International data transfers

Jemakor is based in the United States. If you access our site from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, your personal data may be processed in countries that may not offer the same level of data protection as your home country. When transfers occur, we use appropriate safeguards.

Safeguards: Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for transfers from the EEA to processors or partners outside the EEA, or on an adequacy decision where one applies. We also assess whether additional technical and organizational measures are needed based on the type of data and risk profile.

9. Your rights and choices (GDPR and similar laws)

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data. We honor these rights where applicable and will respond within the time limits required by law. To protect your data, we may request verification of identity before fulfilling a request.

Your GDPR rights

  • Access: request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: request deletion in certain circumstances.
  • Restriction: request limitation of processing in certain cases.
  • Portability: receive data you provided in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent: withdraw consent for consent-based processing at any time.

How to exercise your rights

Send your request to [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request”. Please include the email address you used with Jemakor and describe what you want to do (access, deletion, correction, or objection).

Marketing emails: You can unsubscribe using the link included in any email we send for newsletters or updates. Unsubscribing does not affect non-marketing communications related to your requests.

Right to complain to a supervisory authority

If you are in the EEA and believe our processing infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are located in Ireland, the supervisory authority is the Data Protection Commission (DPC). You can also complain to the authority in your country of residence or work. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern quickly.

10. Cookie policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies for core functionality, to remember your preferences, and for analytics when enabled. Our site includes a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies.

Cookie categories we use

Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for basic site functionality and security. They include cookies (or local storage equivalents) that store your cookie preference so we do not ask repeatedly.

Typical duration: up to 12 months for preference storage, unless you clear your browser storage earlier.

Analytics cookies (optional)

If you accept analytics cookies, we may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure page usage and improve site content. Analytics data may include anonymized or pseudonymized identifiers, page views, session information, and device/browser signals.

Typical duration: session-based and up to 14 months depending on the analytics configuration and your browser settings.

Marketing cookies (optional)

Marketing cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising and to show relevant messages across platforms. If we run marketing campaigns, we may use tools such as the Meta Pixel to understand ad performance. We only enable marketing cookies when you consent.

Typical duration: varies by provider and can range from a day to several months.

How to manage cookies

You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings, including blocking cookies or deleting existing cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website may not function properly. You can also change your site preference by clearing local storage in your browser, which will cause the consent banner to reappear.

11. Children’s privacy

Our services and content are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact [email protected] and we will take steps to delete the information.

12. Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or business operations. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last Updated” date at the top. If the change affects consent-based processing, we may also provide an additional notice on the website or by email where appropriate.
